« Skarlet », anagramme de stalker (projet live de Brieuc Le Meur), est un projet de chanson, de rap français et d’électronique combinés.

Produit il y a vingt ans, à Paris entre 2003 et 2005, le disque est dans la lignée du premier album « Stalker » F4-01 sorti en 2003, déjà dédié à l’electro chantée.

Véritable capsule temporelle, cet album témoigne d’un folklore parisien gonflé à bloc, avec une tension dans l’air, une inspiration salvatrice portée par les raves de l’époque, des groupes rap et noise rock qui dévoraient volontiers les scènes arty et ciné d’un Paname au bord du gouffre.

Puis vint l’exil artistique.

Trois album furent produit. Paris 2004. Tokyo 2007. Et Berlin 20011 (à venir).

C’était une chanson française sauvage qui savait que la techno venait du rock alternatif, du punk psyché, de l’electro sensible, de la new wave, du folk industriel, et qu’elle pouvait y retourner, que Rimbaud en 1994 était un teufeur, que les combats critiques et éthiques étaient puissants, que la ville était surréaliste, ou plutôt « sous-réaliste »… tranquille. Brieuc Le Meur is french born live performer and singer, boss of the label and publishing company Editions f4 / f4 disques.

STALKER, his main act, provides an acidulant music, psychédélic and punk, a raw machine techno, sometimes more down tempo classic electro, combined with singing moments. It is a wide range or possibilities. It is mainly a dance -floor construction, and if the crowd or the context (more arty) allows it, it’s more deconstructed. In the past, it could also be heavy hardbreaks, pure hardtechno with breaks submerged by a gigantic and transparent distorded kick (stalker is considered by many as creator of the « hardfloor »). The association of complex midi programation and improvisation lead to hyper dynamic performances. The singing is a body expression, a lust for poetry as well, to be a musician. To stay a musician.

End of 90’s / 2000’s History :

Raves at the end of the 90’s and 2000’s were huges, with regular festivals in Europe and constant touring. Activist, member of various french music collectives (Impakt-Teknocrates, Heretik system, Banditos, Cinetic, Samboat, Zombie FM), he fought at high political level to defend promoters and sound systems against the french anti-rave laws in the early 2000, after the « criminal justice bill » in the UK.

In the 90′ and 2000′ he teamed up with other artists such like Ronan Masson, worked with Dasha Rush (in Paris & in Berlin), leaded commissioned works for the contemporary dance scene in Paris and gave several AV perfs, annoucing the wider transdisciplinary methods.

In his former parisian wild rave scene, he had a live duo with Beun’s (Heretik), Produced with Eric Barault from Signal Electrique & Christophe Rodomisto for the electro & Rn’B core project « SKARLET » (anagram of Stalker)

Berliner for 15 years now, he produces for other singers : Lili Frikh, Apaig Lombé, Laura Ingalls, Tim O’Loghlin, Dasha Rush, Le Crut (unreleased) or the F4 Collective. New song writing projects and collaborations are on the tube, from his beloved production studio in Berlin Ostkreuz : the F4 Studio

2007 to NOW (berlin) :

in 2007 he leaved Paris and moved to Japan for one year. In between, in April 2007, he was invited to play in Berlin. He did Tokyo-Berlin without passing by Paris, and just had a blast in a punk rave. He decided not to come back to France, and came over in early 2008.

He kept collaborating with the label Fullpanda and continued to play and organise events in the german capital, in venues such as Tresor club, SO36, ZMF, Rechenzentrum, Berghain Kantine, Urban Spree, MIKZ. His music and researches changed significally, developping new transdisciplinary projects.

Theorician of the movement, not as musicologist, not as historian, but as an activist, as a creator, he always wrote about that scene. He published a semi auto-biographic novel aboutthe music scene and the working class of Berlin. Night and day, strobe lights, toilets and fascination and the dailly routine of a worker.
